Fun Time at Diamonds Cabaret
Stopped into Diamonds Cabaret on a Saturday night around 11PM and overall walked away feeling it was a solid middle-of-the-road club with a few standout positives and a couple of clear drawbacks.
The club layout is big, open, and more upscale than you’d expect for the industrial surroundings of Sauget. Lighting and sound were strong—not so dark you can’t see the stage, but just dim enough to set the mood. The stage itself is large, and the rotation moved along at a good pace, giving you a chance to see a variety of dancers without long waits.
As far as the talent goes, it was a mixed bag but trending positive. There were definitely a few knockout dancers worth the price of admission—fit, engaging, and putting in real performance effort on stage. A handful felt more like they were going through the motions, mostly phone-in table visits with little conversation unless you initiated. Mileage varied dancer-by-dancer, which seems pretty standard for the area. Dances were typically $60 per song but some dancers offered a volume discount (I.e. 2 songs for $100).
