The barenaked ladies wrote a song about this place.
I had previously avoided this club for no particularly good reason, but after leaving nearby Wandas, which was a disaster on this evening, I wasn't ready to call it a night. I wasn't in the mood for having a 9.5 give me a boring dance at Chez Parée (basically next door), and while I knew I'd eventually end up at one of the three St Laurent clubs, I decided it was time to take one for the team. On this particular night, Downtown was quite busy with Candiens fans, which meant the club was nearly full and French was the default language.
Prices: $7 or $9 cover (note, cheaper than Kingdom, Chez, and Wandas; similar to Sex Appeal and Kamasutra, more than Cleos) and a $5 tip for the bouncer. Drinks are similar priced to other downtown clubs: $17 for a drink neat with a decent pour. Dances are $5 to get back and $20/song.
Layout: all on one floor. The private booths are fine with a curtain. Better than Cleos, worse than Kingdom, and similar to all the others. There isn't a great view of the stage from the bar, but the bar does have TVs for sports.
