Slow Night and Sticker Shock Killed my Evening
Have not been to any club since before the pandemic, so it may be my fault for thinking the prices were still going to be the same. Thats on me.
Wanted some early evening fun and Spearmint Rhino's info said they open at 6pm. I strolled in at 7:30 and was the only patron in there. Since there was no one on stage, I sat at the bar right by the front door and ordered a coke. 5 bucks. Decent. Made conversation with Marilyn, who was in her dancer attire (bikini), reading a book next to me. Tried to talk to her about books, but we hadn't read anything similar so that was a bust. (Pun intended). She asked if I wasted a dance, but I said I have a rule that I need to see them on stage first. Sahe said they hadn't even started the rotation yet because nobody was here.
I saw someone on stage so excused myself to get a better look, but it was just one of the dancers stretching. When I sat at the stage (mirrors, pole, and what looked like a seldom used hoop hanging from the ceiling. Usual club accoutrements). The woman on stage reiterated that they hadn't started yet, but was willing to give me a dance.
