Decided to try going to Chez Paree again after a few decades! If you have never been, it is worth the trip just for experience of getting into the place. It might not be big enough to be a case study at HBS of how NOT to treat your customers who are coming of their own accord to spend money in your establishment, but it should at least be a homework assignment. In the end, the stupidity is worth it. There is an inherent attitude by the entrance door staff that you are trying to cheat them out of something. Skip ahead, if you just want to know about the girls, the inside of the club and dances. I am sorry if this part bores the reader. Got there on a Wednesday night about 10 PM. I am by myself and let’s say I am old enough and my physical stature would not threaten anyone! I say hello to the two gentlemen in suits that are outside by the front door. Barely acknowledge my presence, let alone return the hello. Gruff attitude and one opens the door to let me in. Actually, he is walking me up the short flight of stairs to make sure I pay the entrance fee. Like the gauntlet of people at the top of the stairs might not see me and accidentally let me in? Get to the top and motioned to a girl in a booth to pay the entrance fee. No words have been spoken until this point! I eventually ask and am told that the entrance fee is $10. Pay that and with my change receive a strong hint to tip the girl $5 in the tip jar. This is all in the space of a very small closet. I am now greeted by the indoor doorman, who will let me into the club, but I should tip him $5 as well. He lets me enter, and I can just choose any seat I want. The place is basically empty except for 3 or 4 tables. There was no body else going in at the time. The entire process took about 3-5 minutes. Barely a word was spoken by the door people. All of which hard more than their fair share of attitude. In case you are wondering, I am dressed in business casual and better dressed that most of the other patrons I saw there that night.

As you enter, you have the main stage right in front of you. To your immediate left you have stairs that go up to the VIP dance area. Just beyond that you have a decent length bar. To your right you have a combination DJ booth, area where a number of the girls hang out and talk, and the stairs down to the men’s room and the girl’s dressing room. There are a number of tables around the stage and another collection of tables beyond that, also around the stage, but one step up. Settle into a table at the far end on the slight upper level. Get my drink and try to figure out the place. The wait staff is friendly enough. There are no dancers up on stage up until 10:30. Interestingly enough, they are only playing Spanish music.

There are 20+ dancers working that night. And this is what sets CP aside from other places I have been to in Montreal. Probably only 2 of the dancers I saw all night would be below a 7. All are very attractive, in their own way. Small, tall, large, thin, you will find more than one dancer that will meet your criteria. A few dancers also had a physique I haven’t seen in a long time. Very slim figure. Big boobs and no behind. Like a flat ass!
