Finally trying out the Palomino

Had a free evening, so I grabbed an Uber and headed up to The Palomino. I’ve heard you can shave a few bucks off the cover if you walk over, but honestly, I came to see dancers, not worry about optimizing my retirement plan. Cover was about $60, which included two drink tickets.

The layout’s pretty straightforward: main stage up front, a bar off to the left, and plenty of seating around both. Tipping at the rail is expected, though the stage action was a little light when I arrived. Maybe a dozen dancers when I got there. Didn’t take long for the dancers to make their way around though.

The women here look like real women, which I appreciate. A few bolt-ons in the mix, sure, but mostly natural, curvy, confident types — I'd guess most were mid-20s to 30s. The vibe was friendly and relaxed overall. Some dancers were a bit forward, most weren’t. Even when a couple of them decided my lap looked like a good place to sit, they were cool about it. A few dollars for conversation, a smile, and some feels felt like a fair trade.
