Something's Still Missing
Dropped by on a Thursday early afternoon and, as seems to be the case all the time now, they were still not open even though I got there around 4:20pm. A few minutes later I paid the $20 to the guy at the front booth who has about as much personality as your average corpse and made my way through the dual wooden swinging doors into the club. The overall layout is pretty much exactly the same as it has been for as long as I can remember, with the exception of during the pandemic when they had that hideous plastic partition surrounding the stage.
There were approximately 15 dancers scheduled for this evening, but about 3 of them never made an appearance during the 2 1/2 hours I stayed which is certainly not out of the ordinary. You can't always rely on the phone recording they update every day shortly before they open to announce the dancers for the day and you sure as hell can't put any stock in the list on the website which is often a week behind. The standard M.O. is that most girls will do about a 15 minute stage set alone although there will often be 2 girls on stage at the same time during the busier periods which are not nearly as common as they used to be.
On this day, there again was no vibe. Not many customers and about half of the dancers sat at the bar either staring at their phones or talking to each other. There was very little attempt to solicit private dances by circling the bar and offering a quick dollar grind like they used to do all the time back in the day. Being that the overall quality of dancer has decreased considerably over the years IMO, this isn't totally a bad thing but, at the same time, it does add to the lack of energy which has been prevalent in this place for at least the past 5 years.
