30 Day Check-In
This 1 month check-in back to the "new" Follies wasn't planned in advance but worked out nicely since I had some errands to run on the southside. As Shadowcat has mentioned, this is the closest club for us southsiders. An important note- this club is in a light industrial area that shouldn't have future gentrification issues and the anti-strip club sentiments often attached.
Club-
Pulled into the small lot a little before 2pm and was pleasantly surprised to see Shadowcat's Mustang sitting up front. The young man outside collected $10 - $5 parking, $5 entry. There was a medium pat down by the armed security guard. Some of you may ask what constitutes a medium pat down... he knows to check for ankle holsters:) Inside it takes a few seconds for the eyes to adjust. This is a small square shaped club with one bar and one stage. Square 4toppers on the main level and couch seating on the back edge. There are also a few highboys on one wall which is where I found Shadowcat perched. There were several TVs on with different sports. The DJ was "mixing" mostly rap with a little pop. IMHO, he was practicing and not very good with one track playing over the other but not in a complementary way. It also made it hard to count songs if you are getting dances. Music volume was too loud for the sparce crowd.
