Set the Right Expectations

Made my first visit to Kandy's in ages on a recent trip through Erie. There is definitely a place for bars like Kandy's, but you need to arrive with the proper expectations.

The club itself is nice, in the way a comfortable local bar can be with a large main stage (large enough that slower-moving girls can't make it the whole way around during their sets). I'd knock a point off for the lack of comfortable seating and tables in the main room. Most of the seating are metal stools and your only options are the bar, the tip rail, or a 3-level set of tiered bar seating. For that reason, on busier nights it can be difficult to find a place to sit and talk with a dancer. Dance area is split into 3, well-maintained areas: a room with 8-10 semi-private dance chairs, private rooms with couches, and private rooms with beds. Club has several novelty rooms (hot seat, shower show room, squad car) and a private stage that are used for bachelor/birthday/divorce parties. There is also a large outdoor area with a fire pit that get quite a bit of use during the summer.

Fastest way to get to club from most directions is I-90 to route 19 and south 15 miles through Waterford. Club is 18+ and BYOB. A beer store located next door is open until 10 or 11pm. On entry, be warned that an ID check frequently involves a scan. Under 21 are given neon tshirts and might have to pay a premium (don't quote me on that). I opted for a tour on arrival since it had been a while and it's an easy way to get a quick dance and show an interest in spending (though she wasn't really my type).
