Looking Up Again

My latest review on the bar: This place is my most convenient club. It is close to places I would normally go and the hours suit me. They open at noon and close at 8PM, unless they are busy. It is up and down as much as a yo-yo.

First the description. The parking lot is large enough and the building is off the main road (rt 45). It’s a little jug handle ( no pun intended) of a road GPS identifies it as Salem-Warren rd.

The building gives the impression of a run-down dive bar, because that’s what it is. You hit the buzzer and somebody inside buzzes you in. The big room has a pool table and the bar. There is a wide opening into a room on the south side that has a few tables, a low stage and a pole. This room is almost always empty. You pass through here to the private dance room where there are 3 short couches for the customers and a few chairs for the dancers to use. There was a time when up to 3 couples could be in there at the same time, but I think the girls make it a practice to wait until it is empty before going in for a dance now. There is also a small VIP room inside the “stage room” but I have never seen anybody use it. I think the rate there is $75 / half hour. The customers here don’t show any interest in it.

Today Julia was tending bar. This was my first time seeing her tending bar. I remember when she would come in before she was old enough to drink. She is related to the owner and she was very pretty.

Beer is $3 and shots are $4. That’s about all this crowd drinks here. The customers are very diverse and everybody is friendly and gets along together. The place had a reputation for being racist a couple owners ago,and everybody including the dancers were melanin-deficient. That is not the case anymore. Personally, I think the WOC dancers are a good improvement. Lately business seems to be picking up and with the traffic the dancers are becoming more plentiful. I saw 5 today and got dances from 3 of them. There were times when there may be one dancer, if she showed up.
