Sometimes, Corporate Clubs Do it Right
Found myself in the city and felt like pulling a mini-Muddy club crawl review for NYC. I had only been to Flashdancers Midtown previously so I wanted to branch out and see what else the city had to offer.
Rick's was in close proximity to my hotel so I started there, entering the club close to 8pm. It's right near Herald Square. I always do some research beforehand to see if there are free admission or discounts offered on the website. Rick's had a free admission coupon you had to print out. Did I feel like a nerdy, fussy coupon clipper as I handed it to the cashier? Yes, I did. Did I feel bad about saving $20? Not at all. When I entered the club, there was a bro host who was very nice and very accommodating. He filled me in on the set prices they have for dances and VIPs, which is a helpful thing to establish for the customer.
I enter the club and it's a typical Manhattan set-up - very narrow space that goes up a few floors. You enter the room and do a u-turn to see the main stage, the bar is on the left facing away from the stage with various chairs, tables situated around the room. Space in the back looks like where people eat if they order food. I saw one starved guy just going to town on his meal all by himself. Place looks nice and well taken care of. Plush, purplish seats and decorations, your typical higher end strip club interior decorating. There's a staircase that goes up to the second floor where I'm told the VIP areas are (no less than 30 minute sessions).
