July in Arizona

I stopped into The Hi-Liter on a recent Saturday afternoon. I arrived around 2pm to a fairly empty parking lot (not unusual for mid July in Phoenix).

Bouncer at the door but no cover charge, ID scan or pat down. He did seem insistent on walking me to a table though, even though it wasn’t that busy. I tipped him a couple bucks to stay on his good side. 2 draft beers ran like $6 from a friendly waitress.

There were probably around 20 or so dancers working. Mostly Cubans, probably 2/3rds of them, with a couple Asians and a couple white girls also in the mix. I would put them in the 5-8 range in the looks department with most sitting in the 6 range. I’m pretty picky so I didn’t like my odds. The good looking Cubans didn’t seem to circulate around the room much either. Luckily, an Asian dancer named Mimi was in the house, she never disappoints with her dances, cool girl too, I highly recommend.
