I have not been to Sapphire 39 (S39) since before Covid. It was never a regular spot of mine but when I'm in Midtown it's usually pretty close so if I'm in the mood it's not a long walk (I walk everywhere in NYC unless it's raining or it's WAY out there). I was in the city to meet a friend the following day so I only went to check the place out, grab a few beers and dances, and get out for the night. I expect things to be pricey in NYC but wow have things changed since I last went. Before Covid Sapphire 60 (S60) used to be the 'upscale' club and S39 and S Times Square (STQ) were just the 'strip club' locations. I have no desire to go to STQ but I gotta imagine they've got it running the same as S60 and now S39. So what does pricey and 'upscale' mean for you, should you want to go..?

Door fee is $30 or $40, I forget. They ask if you've been there before and who helped you last time if you were. I name dropped all my former names but not surprisingly none of them are there anymore. He took my ID and told me to wait, came back a short time later and we talked for a few minutes and I explained my situation and finally he let me in and hooked me up w/ a contact. So if anyone does wanna go just say you're there for 'Tony' so you can get in for free (can use Greg also, he initially brought me in to the bar where Tony made his way up to).

I drank Bud Light cause it's water and I can drink it all night w/o getting drunk and figured they'd be cheap. Each one cost me $10 so def not cheap and I would think a fancier beer would be like $12-14. A basic cocktail starts at $25 and fancier ones can be upwards of $30-40 or more (think basic = rum & coke, fancier = LIT, Old Fashioned). So def pregame if you plan to come here so you can get a buzz going.
