Thursday Night Gold

The Gold Room Instagram page advertises Thursdays as $10 night for dances, so I figured I would give it a shot - nice way to check out a club without busting the bank.

Club is in Stone Park along Lake Street, a fairly busy intersection with a VERY sensitive red light camera for turning right on red. Set me back $100 for doing a slow-and-go when I visited Knockouts a couple months back. Oops! This is a pretty busy stretch of road, though, as Scores, Knockouts, and The Gold Room are all within about half a mile of each other. Knockouts and Gold Room actually share an alley.

The Gold Room requires valet parking, which puts me off. However, I knew there is parking behind Knockouts so I used that, then walked in. No one said anything to me so not sure if it is kosher or if I got away with one. On weeknights I have not really ever seen parking attendants behind Knockouts, so give it a thought. Valet at the Gold Room is $7 normal, or $20 for up front easy access spots.
