Passing Time

I’ve been to Carl’s a few times since my last review. One of those times a friend of the older bartender came to visit her. Sitting next to her was her nice looking twenty something year old daughter. I ended up talking to the mother most of the evening since she saw me being friendly with the bartender. Sadly, the daughter just stared at her phone looking disgusted that her mother would bring her to such a place. It was an interesting encounter, one I would have preferred happened again as I found myself at Carls for a beer to wait out traffic.

I arrived early enough where there was plenty of parking and no cover charge. I took my seat at the end of the bar closest to the dance area. I didn’t recognize the bartender this time. Got my $4 Miller Lite bottle and surveyed the room. Nothing to write home about….again. A few hispanic dancers (one older and overweight, another younger with a fake ass) and an older white dancer. I saw another big one in the back by the pool tables but she never made her way to the bar. There weren’t many customers for some reason. It’s generally a majority of blue collar hispanic guys, but it seemed there were a mix of black and white guys there. Could be because it was still early.

I ended up nursing my beer since the bartender wasn’t feeling talkative. The older Hispanic eventually came over and asked me for a $20 dance. When I said not now she immediately took off. That was the last time a dancer approached me.
