Visiting the Vu
I stopped into Deja Vu in Minneapolis late on a thursday, hoping for a fun night out. The club itself is pretty standard — dim lighting, booming music, and a crowd that looked like it came for both celebration and escape. The atmosphere was fine, but my experience took a turn.
I spent some time with a dancer named Lupita. She had a noticeable scar on her chest, which she told me was from open-heart surgery. I respected her openness about it and felt some empathy, so I decided to book a VIP dance to show support. Unfortunately, the experience in the VIP room left me uncomfortable. She had noticeable body odor, and when things got more revealing, I saw something concerning that looked like a visible health issue (hsv).
I left the VIP room immediately once the dance finished, washed my hands and arms thoroughly before heading out, and went home to shower. It was a jarring experience, and not what I expected for the price or environment.
