Visited: Friday After Midnight

I made a couple visits to the Pantheion Club. My first visit was at 00:15 on a Friday night. There was a pat down for weapons and a metal detector check. The cover charge was $20. My second visit was on a Saturday afternoon at 14:45, which was also accompanied by a metal detector check and pat down, but no cover charge. I believe there is no cover before 15:00. To use the club’s parking lot, there is a $10 valet fee. It is possible to find street parking for free. The clientele at the club was one hundred percent African-American on both of my visits. Music is entirely loud hip hop, but occasionally a little R&B is thrown in on day shift.

In the evening, sixteen ounce aluminum bottles of Sincweiser were $7. During the day shift, they seemed to be half price: $3.50. A shot girl circulates the room selling shots for $5 or $6. There is a Mediterranean restaurant called La Shish that shares a wall with the club. However, American food is served inside of Pantheion Club and is delivered through a door in the wall. A lot of customers were ordering food, so it must be good. The ATM has a $200 maximum withdrawal per swipe and a $15 fee per transaction.

There is a large island stage with a pole at each end in the middle of the room. Dancers strip down to topless. Generally, there would be three dancers on stage at any given time. Dancers would dance one song at the pole closest to the door, dance one song in the middle of the stage doing floorwork, and finish up dancing a third song at the pole further back in the room. The bar has very limited seating. Free seating is at the stage and a small number of tables at the floor level. Premium seating is anything along the perimeter or upper levels in booths. About seventy-five percent of the seating at the club is an upcharge, so there ended up being a lot of guys just standing anywhere they could, and people would practically fight over seats when they opened up at the stage or the bar. Some patrons here like to make it rain, possibly more for their own clout than anything else, so be prepared to have dollars sprinkling on you if you sit at the stage. One guy and his girlfriend had a couple dancers twerking at their booth. They paid them by dumping singles on them. There must have been over $2,000 in singles laying on the ground around the booth. A staff member filled up a thirty gallon black trash bag with all those Geroge Washingtons.
