Flashdancers Midtown is right in the middle of things, near Times Square, a bunch of theaters, etc.. I went by after finishing a show at the Birdland Jazz Theater around the corner, arriving close to 11pm. They had a $20 cover, a mandatory $3 coat check, and a host waiting to hand me off to a dancer on my way in. A small Flashdancers-branded bottle of water was $11.

The club is split, with one side a bar along with a tiny platform stage and a few seats. The larger side is the stage room, separated by a wall from the bar, and having more extensive seating at tables and some booths. There's a mid-sized stage there mostly taken up by a giant pillar. The floor was a strange black and white stripped pattern. The furniture was all in good shape and the place had a somewhat glitzy decor.

The stage had two dancers performing at a time, one at each pole on opposite sides of the big pillar. The ceiling was low enough and the space small enough that the pole was just there to be held onto rather than performed on. That said, most of the dancers actually danced and moved, some with a bit of talent. A couple even stripped out of their tops rather than just pulling them down or shucking them off.
