Once more into the breech my friends…

Once again, I find myself at the Slipper out of proximity and boredom.

Arrives at 4pm or so on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. No cover until 7. Two doors to get in, hard right to a long and narrow room. Bar surrounds a small stage (maybe 5’x5’), with a pole and a staircase leading to the locker room. About 18 bar stools around the bar, you’ve gotta chuck your tips at the stage. 5 booths across from the bar with bolted down, awkward tables you’re guaranteed to slam your knees into, LD area at the far end with two banquettes and a hitching post between them. VIP room upstairs with a bar, a stage and several more awkwardly constructed booths that make extras really challenging.

Sat down and ordered a beer ($14, JTFC). And waited. And waited. Kiki the bartender on afternoons is awesome. Typical masshole broad who takes no shit and is hilarious.
