COI Rhino - low energy but still good in private

've visited the COI Rhino quite a few times, and like others, noticed the gradual decline in energy. This last time it was really pretty striking - even at 10pm, only a few dancers present (about 4). And it was particularly striking this time how little they were into dancing on the stage, or talking beyond asking for a dance. This makes sense in the modern CA business model where most people are there for private dances, but was disappointing - I quite like watching stage dances. This seems exceptionally true at the Rhino - I got the vibe that the dancers didn't even really want anyone sitting at the tip rail.

On the positive side, though, private dances are excellent. The rooms are large and comfy and - not surprisingly - private. (Especially when there are only a handful of customers and dancers) I had gone there to see a dancer i've had dances from before and once again really enjoyed it; she was wonderful company and great at communicating. Room fees are high ($180) and tips can be significant ($200+) but for private dances, SR COI continues to be one of the very best in the LA area. But your choices for who to get one with are limited.
