Before I begin, special thanks to @RonJax2 whose creative writing was both informative and interesting and was "seminal" in me deciding to make this long trip. He also patiently responded to all my personal messages to him. Of course @PADBABS who I think must be a perfect gentleman given he offered to come over all the way to just have a drink and calm my anxiety about making this trip

A gesture I thought was amazing but not worth his time. And to all others who have spent time writing about their experiences at HK for mongers like us.

The trip was to arrive Monday afternoon and leave Thursday morning. I ended up leaving a day early on Wed which cost me an extra $320 or so which included the lat day's room charge and flight change. More on that later. The $70 VIP card is almost a must for anyone staying even a single day there especially if it's a Monday or a Tuesday. I think I should split this review into 2 parts - Monday night and Tuesday at the club. This one will cover Monday.
