First and not last journey to the holy ground!!
Wow! Wow! Wow! I have been on this site for many years and have had numerous postings, but I stopped a few years ago and just pay the monthly charge. But I feel obligated to post my first adventure to TJ.
First, I would have NEVER gone if was not for the support from my bothers here who have paved the way. Special shoutouts to @RonJax2, @Zbott and @justinyoo who sent me private messages to answer my naive questions. I am well-traveled for my job in many countries, but I have never had so much apprehension on going to TJ. If you have not gone, you must go!!! I followed the guide here to the exact instructions and it was so simple!!
I was in San Diego for a conference and decided to stay an extra day. Took an uber to the boarder around 2pm ($38) which was a 50-minute journey due to some heavy traffic. Once getting out of the Uber, found the McDonalds and got my bearings. Walked past the McDonalds and followed the masses to the crossing. Once I stopped to wait in the Foreigner line, it took me 25 minutes to be on the other side looking for a taxi (HK shuttle nowhere in sight). There was extreme traffic to Cascades as the street lights were broken, it was a 20-minute ride.
