Nice Valentine's Day visit
Was on my way back home from visiting Mickey's and knowing Brittany worked on Fridays, decided to also hit up RI Dolls to see that was going on. At 7pm the place seemed fairly busy with maybe 10-15 dancers circulating on the floor of all body shapes and ethnicities. Not really any special costumes for Valentines Day, which surprised me. $10 cover.
Please see other reviews for the physical layout - literally nothing has changed. I will say the decor is somewhat scaled down high end club decor, red velvet type drapes, chandeliers (which may or may not work?), and generally seems fairly clean and kept up with OK. I think it is a very nice neighborhood type of place, and both patrons and dancer's I've talked to commonly express the same, with a notable lack of drama that prevails at some other regional establishments. I enjoy the rare visit here.
During the time I was there, dancers were being called up to the stage to do a set of 2 songs, with most staying in costume for the first, and going topless for the second. Ability and attitude ranged from "meh" to "I'd definitely like to get to know that dancer better.". Sometimes names were hard to catch - wish the club would put up a discrete sign somewhere that listed the previous, current, and next up dancers. I've noticed at this club that rail tipping is not that common, though occasionally some patron would walk up from nowhere and literally throw a wad of ones at the dancer or her feet and walk away. Personally this feels weird to me - If I don't sit at the rail for a bit and tip, I always walk up and say hello at least to the dancer, and I much prefer to slip some bills into a garter or strap and get a gentle feel at the same time.
