Alive since '65
Atlanta, GA. Saturday night. Real late, this place was open till 3am and decided to finish out the night checking this spot out, never been. Heard a lot about it, I've been wanting to go since I saw Anthony Bourdain go there in one of his shows. This part of Atlanta seems alright, I parked in the neighborhood on the street next door, might be tricky to get parking but I found a spot. I walk in the front, and a black lady security guard asks me if I'm looking for the lounge, as I guess this front entrance is a hotel. She guided me to walk around the building and below. Walk up, white guy in the front, ID check and pat down. Black dude at the table, he stamps your wrist "No cameras"
Walk on in. Layout is a dance area where various customers were dancing. And on the right is a circle bar with a stage on the inside. Bathrooms are just behind that. No lap dances here. You just ball up your money and throw it on the inside while they dance. Customers, super duper liberal, trendy type crowd in here. Mostly white but lots of different folks. A ton of girl customers. Place was packed. Sort of enjoying a ironic strip club experience. The vibe of the place is great, really more a weird dive bar experience than a strip club thing.
Dancers. Sort of a known thing going in to not expect anything amazing. A few ladies north of 70. And the rest 20's, 30's, 40's but really hefty. About 10 dancers. Nobody really cares though, I guess that's point, everyone seems to be having a real good time.
