Fun in the middle of nowhere
With another terrible snow year in New England, I decided on a Friday at Sunday River, as the 50 mph winds would finally die down. When conditions in New England are awful, Sunday River is hands down the best of the worst conditions. The only problem is that where I stay is almost 50 miles from Hour Place. Having never been to Hour Place on a weeknight I decided to head out. Couple of road ducks and some herb and I arrive to a giant parking lot with 4 cars in it. They are open.
$10.00 cover. The owner/manager notes its been almost a year since he last saw me (10 months) and we exchange pleasantries. As you enter the bar is to the left. 3 Seats. No waitress. Not needed. Summer cider is being closed out, so they are $4.00 a pop. To the right are the restrooms and as you head along the wall to the right there are the 3 private rooms, then the lap dance room, and then the dressing room. Pool tables in front of the bar. You'd be lucky to get out alive if you put a drink on one and no cell phomes allowed, which is refreshing.
4 stages, with only the small one in front of the bar and the too high off the ground main stage. 11 Dancers on, instead of the planned 8, making it 2 dancers for every customer most of the night. Girls are all locals and range in age from 22 to 45. 2-3 were on the larger side and the rest in-between spinner and average. All but one white and only one with enhancements.
