Now the Place to Go in SF
Unfortunately this is the best option in SF right now for a full-nude club as it has the highest number of stripper-worthy dancers. And the girls here reliably get naked on stage. I ended up here on a Saturday night after visiting another establishment (see separate review). This club is on the edge of the dicey Tenderloin neighborhood. I recommend approaching from the North as the “loin” stretches to the south from the club. If taking the local transit systems, BART or MUNI, get off at the Powell Street station. Be mindful that the transit system shuts down at midnight most evenings. You have to be buzzed into this club by the front desk attendant which should set off the appropriate “know your environment” alarms. Cover was $25.
The building was built in 1909 and was a movie theater for most of its history. The old rake from the entrance down to the stage is clear from the ramp on the right side of the space. There are remnants from the old theater on the walls and ceiling that are pretty cool. There is a bar to the left as you enter and rooms for private dances to the right. The thrust stage is T-shaped and projects into the space from the back with theater chairs in parallel rows on either side. The one major change the club has made in the last 20 years is the creation of a VIP section between the stage and the entrance. The VIP area and the area by the stage on the two levels for this space. The cost to use the VIP area is $20 and you get two free drinks. Because there are better, closer seats near the stage, I don’t see the merit of the VIP upsell and no patrons were in this area the night I visited. One aspect of this club that I value is the ample seating at the stage. It is about 40 feet long and has seating on both sides. I also appreciate the stage height which is ideal for views of a nude dancer whether she is on her knees or back.
