Swing and a miss

Headed to Le Zipper after reading that another club in the area had burned down and the Zip brought their dancers over. Seemed nice-also seemed like the dancer-guest ratio was going to be pretty freaking awesome. So, off I went, fully aware what a sucky drive St. Hyacinthe is from the states. Figured it would be worth it.

The club sits on a fairly busy road and has a large, well lit parking lot. Entrance is in the front, which takes you right into a modest sized bar up against the opposite wall. There's an ATM, dart board and a pool table in this corner. The stage, oval shaped; fairly big with two poles takes up the remainder of the space. Bathrooms located beyond the stage.

Walked in shortly after 7:00 to just a bartender and bar back leaning over the bar. Ordered a Molson ($7 CA after tax) sat at the bar and took the place in. Not a dancer in sight. Finally, called the bartender over and with some help from google translate, I asked if they'd just opened, and she replied that they opened at noon. I then asked if there were any other women and she replied that they would be there soon-8:00 or so. I asked her how many and she took my phone and very carefully punched in '14.' Fourteen girls in a place like that on a mid-week night was exactly what I'd driven north for, so I settled in.

Saw a sign on the wall, cover $5 (no one asked me for cover) VIP access $10 and dances $20. And that's the best intel I can share, because by 8:30, there were some other patrons in there, a DJ had arrived, but not a single dancer. Place had a vibe like it was setting up for a good and rowdy night, but I couldn't spend any more time on a bar stool just hoping that it would take off soon. Left. Two other clubs on my way back to the border pretty much helped me forget about the gas and time I'd just wasted-maybe I'll have an update with better information for the forum about Le Zipper one of these days, but I have no interest in making that drive again anytime soon. For now, all I can say is-don't get there early.
