Like listening to radio; commercial, safe, and overall a bit dated
One of the most well known and centrally located clubs in Toronto, Brass Rail is notorious for adorning its 3 story exterior with giant 12’ posters of performers from decades past–with some small tweaks to conform to the French Language Act, BR would readily fit in with the flashy, over the top/in your face/there are kids on this fkn street, strip clubs in Montreal. You can see the club from a mile away, if not space.
The crowd that it drew on the night of our visit tended to be the male suburban spectator-type who was on a night out with the boys. We didn’t see any girls there who weren’t working if that gives you a vibe. On our visit the building was filled to the gills with dudes who gave you the immediate impression that they've never been in a SC before. We saw a guy try a dine-and-dash from the back VIP and the rest of the club got a first hand look at how well that works out.
While the exterior could be a meme, the interior is designed to be a “classic” strip club–BR is one of those venues that reminds you just how fun the 80s must have been to party in, even if that means the Rail feels like a dated, and very blue lit, miniature set piece from Showgirls. It's Drake's city so the music is your standard Pop-Hop stuff--I didn't struggle to converse with my friend over the familiar from-this-century tunes.
