Smoky Pit of Broken Dreams
This review is a composite of a couple of visits that I've had here over the years. The first was a nightshift in summer 2021 and the second was a dayshift in June 2023. The experiences were wildly different so I know there is some variance to the time you might have here, but I would say at a baseline, there's a lot working against it.
The surrounding is a mix of industrial businesses and other dinghy buildings squished in between the parallel lines of Hempstead and Hwy 290, easily two of my least favorite roads in this city. It is not a pretty area. The parking lot is little more than a dusty gravel patch and there are numerous divots that will give you anything from a little turbulence to a trip to get your suspension worked on so beware. The club shares walls with a hookah lounge (never been inside) and also a swinger's club, which is actually pretty active and nice inside, so if you are so inclined, this is a fun overall spot for a trashy escapade with a sufficiently adventurous SO.
The entrance puts you right in front of the desk. Pretty sure there is a metal detector but I may be remembering that wrong. Cover for my wife and I was probably $20 on the night we visited around 11pm so not bad at all. On my solo dayshift right after noon, it was something like a ridiculous $12, which honestly must have been the door girl fleecing a new face because the club was in no state to be charging double digit cover.
