I went to Glamour Girls at 23:20 on a Saturday night. There is a small parking lot next to the strip club, but it was full. I parked on a nearby side street. A security guy checked me with a metal detecting wand at the door. There was a $15 cover charge, which is outrageous for a dive in Wichita. The inside is very cramped. There is a small bar on the back wall. The stage is to your immediate left. The private dance area is on the far left beyond the stage. An outdoor smoking patio is to your immediate right through a sliding door that seemed to be jammed halfway open. There is a VIP seating area in the back right corner that has its own pole. There is also a shower show stall in the VIP area. A Sincweiser was $3. At least the beer was cheap here. All music was hip hop and played deafeningly loud; I would guess it was one hundred ten decibels. Dancers play their music off of an AMI jukebox. An emcee will occasionally call out dancers' names. Two-thirds of the clientele was African-American.

There were six dancers working. Two were African-American. Two were Caucasian. Two were Hispanic. Only five of the dancers went on stage. The hottest dancer of the half dozen did not do any stage sets. She looked like a clone of the pornstar Kourtney Love. I guess she was so hot that she didn’t need to advertise her body. Dancers would only go on stage for one or two songs at a time. Since this is a bikini club, dancers removed no clothing. Most of the stage show was twerking.

A dancer named Jinx sat down with me and ordered a drink. In Wichita, there is a dancer drink scam going on where you have to buy a dancer an overpriced drink if they socialize or sit with you. The waitress tried to get me to pay $25. I told her I didn’t ask the dancer to come and sit with me. I said I will pay for her cocktail, but I am not paying for a dancer to just sit with me. I still ended up paying $10, which must be the lowest dancer drink price. The music was so loud, conversation was nearly impossible anyway. I asked Jinx what private dances cost. She charges $50 for one song, $80 for two songs, and $100 for three songs. Every dancer has her own prices. With the lack of spending going on at Glamour Girls, prices could be negotiated down. Every dancer I asked agreed to do a private dance for $30. The private dance area is a structure made out of black curtains with couches inside. Two way contact was allowed, and it wouldn’t surprise me if more was available on a slower night for an upcharge.
