Cool, laid-back club outside of downtown
Checked Haven Place out last weekend - both on Friday and Saturday night. The club is off of Rt. 40 (Pulaski Highway) roughly a mile down the same street as the Gold Club, but a couple miles outside the downtown Block area (though is a pretty straightforward drive from that area). It's in a blue collar part of town but seems safe with a well-lit parking lot and ample street parking outside the parking lot.
Haven Place is open 7 days a week until 2 AM but, unlike the Block clubs downtown, the club doesn't open until 8, with many of the dancers often not getting there until 9 or even slightly later than that. As I understand it, the bar has been in operation as a strip club/go-go bar for several decades (since at least the 1950s), with the current owner inheriting the club from his father. No cover to get in the club.
I checked out the Haven Place on consecutive nights - Friday and Saturday night. While the girls do strip full nude, the club is more of a dive bar where girls happen to strip. Overall it's a medium-sized bar with one dancing area on the side. Both nights I went there were maybe 10-15 customers for the couple of hours I was there with 6-7 girls dancing. Diversity of ages in the girls from 20s, 30s, to one dancer who appeared to be in her mid-40s. Most of the girls were white with a couple of AAs. I thought the girls were generally cute, but the girls here are going to be considered mid-tier, slightly above average at best in terms of quality. I don't like to rate girls as we all have our own, often differing opinions on beauty/quality, but you're not getting top of the line 9s and 10s here.
Like most clubs, the girls do 2-3 songs and then walk around asking each customer for tips. What I like here is that there's zero pressure from the girl or bartenders to buy dancers a drink (like there is in the clubs on the block). I think the club used to have an area downstairs for lap dances but not sure if that's available anymore - I didn't ask as I wasn't interested in a lap dance and none of the girls brought it up. There is no lap dance section in the main bar area though I strongly suspect if you really wanted one you could negotiate.
Also appreciated that drink prices were dirt cheap relative to the Block downtown. A Corona for example was only $6, compared to a price of $10 or $11 on the Block. The club does have a full bar with one small TV above the bar.
There is a big breasted bartender who gets topless and danced a couple times towards the end of her shift, which I appreciated LOL.
Overall it's a chill club with laid-back, friendly, low-pressure girls and cheap drink prices. I didn't go for extra-curricular activities so didn't get a sense of the mileage available - I might look into that my next trip there. Will definitely be back!!!
