Time to kill in at Atlanta
We pulled up to Vivide just before 2pm, paid our cover charge and made our way inside. Walking in, we found ourselves on the second floor, which was dimly lit with a bar and a few booths offering some privacy. To reach the action on the first floor, we headed down a narrow staircase. The first floor was where things really happened: a bar ran along the right wall as you came down, a stage stood in the middle, and booth seating lined the edges. VIP booths were positioned behind the DJ. The bathrooms were located on this floor too, and while there was a troll, they were less intrusive than at some places.
Drinks were on the pricey side—a bottle of water was $5, a vodka on the rocks cost $12, and a shot of Don Julio tequila were $15 each. There seemed to be a food menu from a nearby restaurant, but we didn’t order any. The bar service was a bit slow, it took close to 20 minutes to get our drinks. The vibe was relaxed and laid-back during the afternoon. I was told things would heat up later in the evening. The crowd was diverse in age, style and ethnicity, from younger men in casual clothes to older guys in suits, all contributing to a safe and comfortable environment.
When we arrived, there were about 20 women—mostly Latina (around 15, mostly Cuban), with 2 or 3 African American, and a couple appeared white. The women were generally attractive, with a good variety of body types. About 70% were curvy, while 30% were slimmer side. The hustle factor was moderate. Dancers approached us frequently, but if we weren’t interested, they didn’t push too hard. They were quick to ask if we wanted to dance, though. Floor dances were $10 each, whether on the first floor or in the open area on the second. VIP dances were $60 to the house for 30 minutes, plus whatever you negotiated with the dancer. I received quotes ranging from $200 to $300.
