Midshift at Club 205
I had a rare Tuesday off, so I decided to try the midshift on a couple of SE Portland clubs. I’ve been hitting the clubs at night, but the last couple of months the nights have been so slow. I’ve heard that Venue is pretty good during the day, so I decided I was going to try Venue then 205. I hear Venue is going to be turned into something like a Hooters. It’s no longer going to be a strip club. For now though it’s still a strip club.
I popped into Venue around 4:30. There are usually a lot of cars in the parking lot, but today there were just a few cars. I walked in, the bouncer patted me down, no cover. It was DEAD! I only saw one girl, there were maybe 5 customers, the stage wasn’t being utilized. I took a shit, then I left to walk over to 205, I was at Venue for maybe 5 minutes. I did come back to Venue to eat after my adventures at 205. I highly recommend their bacon cheeseburger with fries, very good.
I walked across the street to 205. I walked in, no bouncer, no cover. It was a big difference from Venue. At 205 there was anywhere from 15-20 customers. There were probably around 10 girls. It was lively in here. The slot machines were full. The bar was full. They have pretty cheap happy hour specials. My rum n coke was $2.50. 205 has two stages, and both stages were in use. 205 is more of a dive bar feel as opposed to an upscale club. Customers were more on the older side with a few young customers.
