Saturday Night at The Candy Store
After a completely uninspiring stop at Bourbon Street, I bailed about 10pm and headed north up the 51 freeway to The Candy Store. I am always surprised how busy this club is compared to Bourbon Street, which seems super slow this summer. I've heard this club described as a neighborhood bar that also happens to be a strip club, and I think this is accurate. The club sits on the NE corner of Cave Creek Rd and Union Hills, which for the uninitiated, is way the hell in the north part of town. The outside is lit up with red neon, the parking lot seems adequate and safe, and there's a QT next door if you get the munchies.
At the entry, there's a girl collecting the $10 cover, with a cooler full of beer if you are so inclined. To the left is the main stage room which is surrounded by seating along the wall and at tables, with two VIP areas behind the stage. To the right when you enter is the main bar, which seems to be a hangout for regulars. The restroom is across from the bar, small but OK, with no attendant. Further back to the right is a second smaller stage, and I think there's still a pool table back there, and another VIP room. I usually only see one waitress scurrying about, but there are also several guys behind the bar that are friendly and attentive.
As usual, I had trekked north to see Sammy, the busty, blonde, petite Disney Princess, formerly of Bourbon Street, but now at this club for the last couple of years. When I entered I saw her sitting with a PL in one of the wall love seats in the main stage room. She saw me come in so I planted myself in another seat to watch the stage and wait for her. The club seemed to be hopping with a ton of girls, maybe since it was the first of the month. Lots of body types and ethnicity present, dancers rotate between the main stage and the back room stage, and then work the floor looking for victims..., I mean customers. I'm a cleavage hound, and there were a lot of really great candidates in the house. Lots of great bodies, but also tons of ink. This is not a deal breaker for me, I just find it distracting when a woman's beautiful body is literally completely painted with tattoo art. I had a few girls that stopped by to chat and offer dances, only got a couple of floor dances ($10 each) from Cassandra, an older dancer with awesome curves (and ink) that I had seen on stage earlier.
