Very nice club, on a very slow, disappointing, night a month or two too late.
This was my first time in Tampa in many, many years, and I feel like it was the wrong time to go for a couple of reasons. First, Florida passed an age restriction statewide banning clubs from having strippers under the age of 21. Then also it was a Thursday night into morning in the summer. I don't know how much the latter had to do with anything, but I can't imagine being down 20,000+ female USF students helps things (even if 3/4th of them now couldn't work club if they wanted to, due to the new statute...)
I went to a few places, and for arguably the strip club capital of the US, Tampa was incredibly disappointing so I'm hoping I just happened to be there a bad night. In any event, started around 9 p.m., every place I went apologized saying "it's early" but it never stopped being early, no matter how late it got, and I finally ended up at Scarlett's. It's a very nice club -- good sized parking lot, guy outside watching the lot--go in and pay the cover at a small stand and then go through the curtain. Relatively big, one large center stage and a room full of tables and comfortable chairs at the floor level, and then a riser in the back with low couch seating. Well maintained, clean, very nice professional setup. The drawback? Arrived a bit after midnight and stayed til 2:30, and saw maybe six dancers in the whole place. At least they always had one stage (unlike 2001, where I had gone earlier, and there were three dancers in the club and breaks of 15-20 minutes with none on stage).
There was no push (at all) for dollar tips. There were around ten patrons in the place, nobody sitting by the stage, so the dancer on stage was basically dancing for the exercize. Dancers walk around, sit down beside you, pitch their dances. Chill place (at least that night), no soliciting for tips during the pitch. Mix of white, black and hispanic dancers, which was nice -- not a white club, not a black club, not a hispanic club. The hispanic girls spoke English (there seem to be clubs in Tampa that are all Cuban dancers you can only communicate with using Google translate). They have VIP dances, and then also private small couch/booth dances in a couple of adjacent rooms. Dances generally were $25 each but the girls would either offer 3 for $60 upfront or as last pitch when turned down for $25. Had a couple of $25s with a pretty Hispanic dancer with an enlarged rack. Although the club is advertised as nude, she only took the top off. It was two because when the first song was over she kept going, at the second one I said thanks, and she was offended.
