This has been my go-to bar within NYC limits for many years. Here is why: Affordable and service is generally good enough.

The place itself is a quick ride from Grand Central on the 7. Its about 5 stops. Then there is a 2 block walk. The area is very safe. Mostly commercial and industrial with a major thoroughfare (Queens Blvd) half a block away. Parking can be found under the 7 train on Queens Blvd (metered during the day) or free parking on adjacent blocks. Just keep an eye on the street parking rules signs.

The club itself is around 8000 sq ft. When you walk in, there is a large stage to your right with open seating area. A few steps up to your left is a 2nd stage surrounded by a bar. It can seat around 60 people. There are more seating around the walls by the bar.
