No Diamonds in the Rough
There have been some reports of "diamonds in the rough" here. So I used an opportunity while I was in the area to check things out. Went there at about 5 pm so I could catch end of day and beginning of evening shift. The bar was the same smokey hole as always (although not as bad as previous visits. The decor and bathroom are probably the same as they were in 1990 (didn't live near Detroit then). $5 cover with optional free pass to Henry's. No valet...rough parking lot but who cares. $8 domestic beer (I think) with frequent specials. Wait staff was prompt with out being annoying. I settled in at one of the high top tables in front of stage.
The talent was not very good on days. The "over the hill gang" was in full force. There was only one that seemed to be my type...but she was busy the whole time then left early. No others even remotely interesting. Stayed for the 1st hour of night shift. Only three unattractive dancers. Probably more would show up later but it was time to check out Henry's (which was not worth the trip even with free pass). SO, in short, no "diamonds in the rough". to be found. Not a great trip...but that how it is with Bogies...very hit or miss.
