Fun at the Venue.

Visiting Portland for work, I checked out The Venue and Club 205 (across the street from each other) on my first night in town. I headed back to the Venue on an afternoon to get a closer look. There was no cover and it was much quieter than my first visit, but both times I was barely able to order a drink (club soda for 5$) before I had dancers asking if I wanted private dances, which were at the Portland standard of 3 for 100. One of the ladies, a curvy black girl, was pretty handsy in how she expressed her invitation, so I agreed and she led me to the far back booth. There were signs up indicating cameras, but I didn't see any, and she sure didn't act like anyone was watching. She made it quite clear that my hands and lips were free to wander just about anywhere, and she was quite happy to let her hands do the same - and mentioned that her lips would be more active if we moved to the champagne room. I was enjoying what we were up to already and wasn't interested in changing venues at that point, so we just let our hands do the work until the work was done. Definitely a lot of fun, and I tipped accordingly.

All in all, having spent some time at both Club 205 and the Venue, they both have their charms. The Venue felt a little more transactional - felt like from the moment I walked in, dancers wanted to get me into the back booth as quickly as possible and drain me, financially and otherwise, as quickly as possible.
