Friday Morning Fun
I had never been to a Providence club before. I showed up late morning around 11am. I parked around the back on the far side of the place if you're coming in from Douglas ave. That side looked like the front to me based on pics and the way the building is staged--it is not the front. You have to walk around the building and up the steps.
I go in, no hassle on clothing, (loose linen shirt, not obvious athletic pants, sneakers), ID checked by good-looking door girl. No cover. Though the doors, dead ahead, is the bar. To the right is an ATM ($7 fee), standing room, and kitchen staff entry, and to the left, beside the bar, is the bathroom entry. Just beyond that is the main stage. On the far side of the stage is the stage entry, and the entrance to the private dance area. Circling around to the back of the main room is another smaller stage (possibly for shower dances), DJ booth, another smaller bar, then on the other side, across from the main stage, looked to be a VIP viewing area for larger parties, and an exit to downstairs.
I grabbed a beer from the bar (bottled, $6). Prices on everything seemed good/fair. I had asked for a menu, but they said they were only serving the menu past 3pm. That was fine, I was mostly curious, mostly. I only had to fight off one girl at the bar, and it wasn't much of a fight (Isn't there always at least one?). Bartender and servers were attentive, not as attractive as other places and could've been friendlier, but that didn't matter much. Customers were mixed, mostly old dudes. I had a long drive from MA and it took me a sec to find the men's room (to the left of the bar).
