Very nice club, not enough dancers, decent dances
The O was about a twenty-five minute drive northeast from downtown Atlanta. The parking was a bit awkward to find behind the club, and not in great shape, but was free. There was a $7 cover charge and a mild pat down on the way in.
Inside the club was maybe the nicest in Atlanta. Good furnishings, clean, not too bright. There's a large stage, mostly unused when I was there. Bars are on either side, with stool seating and big TVs behind them. An unusual series of elevated terraces face the stage, providing for both watching a performance and being a bit separated from the floor. The ceiling wasn't too low and ventilation seemed ok, though there weren't enough people to test smoke levels. The A/C was working again, though perhaps not running at full capacity.
My only complaint is one I have for most of the city -- the music was too loud. There were maybe three customers in the club, hardly a banging party, and the music was blasting so loud that it was impossible to hear anything other than shouts. I know I'm old and not terribly appreciative of music, modern or otherwise, but I'm convinced most club workers here are significantly deaf from working in this environment too long, so everything just keeps getting louder.
