A Disappointing Visit To A Club That Has Provided Some Memorable Times
I made a stop at Cabaret II last Wednesday around 3 PM and it probably had been six months since my last visit. This club is the furthest east strip club in the metro and with the 2 PM open, I don’t get here as often as I would like. It has gone through quite a transition from my first visits around seven years ago. Back then, mainly white dancers, on this visit, all eight dancers were Latino playing Latino hip-hop. Back in those first visits, a mix bag of dancer sizes and today, all were spinners. Fortunately, I met a dancer back then that I still connect up with, but now at a different club. Her and I have also connected outside the club.
They have a decent size parking lot and when I pulled in, only three cars in the lot. I was surprised to see eight dancers given they have a DJ, bartender, and a door guy. Either they are making the dancers park on the street or they all carpooled together in one car. Anyways, don’t let the empty parking lot fool you. I have to put a review disclaimer; spinner bodies are not my first choice and not a fan of hip-hop. I have been a fan of this club over the years and a number of memorable visits. If you speak Spanish, that is a plus now. For me, it is a little disappointing when there is a communication issue with a dancer.
You walk down a few steps to get to the entrance and will immediately be met by a door guy. On this day/time, no cover or id check, just waved right in. If you need to use the john, it is in this lower entrance area. You then walk back up a few steps to get to the large stage and bar. Seating on three sides of the stage with high tables/chairs in this area. Stadium style seating with two more levels for your viewing pleasure. The full bar is in the back behind the stage area with no seating. The stage is fairly high with no rail to speak of. There is a small round gold bar. They have these rubber strapped chairs that your butt kind of sinks through around the stage. The lap dance booths are on the upper floor with love seats couches, fairly dark, and bead curtains, so not totally private, but private enough. They have VIP booths with doors on this level and out in their covered patio. The VIP rate for those booths is posted outside the VIP door. I think they were $275/hhr. No cameras in this club as well as no supervised monitoring of the booths. You have to buy two songs at a time for $60 and pay that door guy before going up with the lady. If you like the direction your dance is going and want to continue, she has to run down the next $60 first. I generally buy four dances upfront for $120 and take the gamble if I don’t know the dancer, but has given me reason at the rack to take her for a test drive . I paid $9 for my coke, but it comes with a refill! A high-quality tequila shot will cost you $19.
