Upper only in altitude
Finally tried Upper Brass on a Friday night at 10:30. Admission was $30 (I thought he said 50 and said "pardon me?", then he said 30, but this may have just been my poor hearing). You get a credit card shaped token for re-admittance. Compared to the ground level it is: darker with a red tint, less crowded, a tiny bit less loud, a bit smaller. The stage is much smaller, elevated only about one foot, and has only one pole. Dancers can rotate between downstairs and upstairs; I don't know if they're required to do so. Every dance I saw upstairs except one was extremely low energy, just standing around. Disappointing.
I didn't see any communal 'private' dance areas like they have downstairs, there were plenty of curtained single units with adequate space. Price was the same as downstairs for a half hour: 100 to the house, 200 to the dancer. I can't tell you whether the management is any more permissive in Upper because the dancer I selected this night wasn't allowing it. She did get nude and she did sit on my lap, but zero grind and unwilling to take direction. Damn shame to waste such a great spinner body and friendly personality.
Jack & Coke was 14.75. I was not allowed to carry a drink downstairs.
