Good and bad
I’ve lived in the Philly area off and on for a number of years but never visited Delilah’s, mostly because of its location in Center City. On this occasion I was driving up I-95 and decided, why not? I pulled off the highway, turned right at the first light, drove two blocks and turned right again, drove two blocks and turned into a large parking lot. Contrary to expectations, it was easy.
No parking fee or cover charge at about 4:45 on this day. At the doorway between the lobby and the main room a bouncer told me to check my zippered hoodie. I didn’t object until I saw three other hoodies in the club. Whatever. There was a metal detector. The large main room is dominated by a large barbell-shaped structure. The two ends are bars and the center is a rectangular stage. Dancers enter the stage down a staircase from the upstairs over the one bar. At this time dancers were doing three-song sets, usually but not always topless. Patrons tip the dancers on stage, and there is no tip walk. The stage/bars are surrounded by a main floor with small tables and chairs and also chairs up against the stage. Surrounding all this is a second level of tables and chairs.
My Coke cost $7. Food is available. The menu is varied and looks good but a bit pricey (hamburger- $15, crab cake - $32). I had a cup of lobster bisque for $10, which was rather good.
