Hit and Miss

I stopped into The Hi-Liter on St Patrick’s Day afternoon. I arrived around 3pm. The parking lot was maybe 1/2 full. I was greeted at door by a friendly bouncer, there was no daytime cover once again, also no ID check for those worried about that.

Inside, there were probably 15-20 customers, I had no trouble finding a table. 2 for 1 wine, well, draft in the afternoons. 2 draft beers ran about $6. Friendly waitstaff.

There were about 20 dancers working. I’m guessing about 15 of them were Cubans, there seem to be more and more of them every time I stop in. Not to disparage the Cuban ladies, there are a few good looking ones that work here, but not on this day. Most of them just don’t do much for me, most are carrying some extra pounds, some are in the skinny fat category, just a lot of blah. Many also struggle with their English which makes things even harder. Outside of the Cubans, the other girls weren’t bad, but there were only a small handful of them and they didn’t seem to circulate around the room much.
