A Tuesday at the 5

In Vancouver for a work conference, and I decided I wasn’t ready to sleep yet so headed to the 5 for a little entertainment before bed on a Tuesday evening. It had been a few years since my last visit there.

For those of you who haven’t been, it’s not in the greatest part of town so I took an Uber and arrived around 11. The area around has been cleaned up a bit and had no issues going in at all. Cover was $5 and I walked right in quickly. The 5 is basically a dive bar with a small stage I the middle. I grabbed a drink from the bar and sat down. It was fairly quiet in terms of patrons and dancers this night. Only a handful of patrons and only a half dozen dancers or so.

Because there were only limited options, the hustle factor wasn’t overly high. I had a couple women come by and ask if I wanted to go to VIP, and I told them I was just settling in (I wanted to see what all was working) and the very casually told me they’d check back later.
