It's Never Going To Be The Way It Was on TV
The last time I had visited was on a Saturday afternoon there was some kind of Sopranos tour happening so that wasn't a good gauge of the usual goings on at this place so next time around I stopped off on a Tuesday evening right around 9pm. The parking lot was pretty empty and the crowd (or lack thereof) was consistent with this as there were 8 customers and just about the same number of dancers. Nearly all of the girls were in the 5-7 range and were of Hispanic descent. I wasn't impressed much at all with the selection until I spotted Angelique. She is a rather tall, well-endowed brunette whom I believe is Dominican. She actually came over to me after having sat with another customer for a little bit and, when she offered me a private dance, I accepted.
The lap dance area is off in the back corner of the bar and is basically a set of about 8 mini-benches all facing each other so there is zero privacy. At this point dances are still $20 each, but I can't say it is $20 per song because that is not what dictates each dance "unit", for use of the better term. It appears it is up to the individual girl's discretion as to when she believes it's time to hit you up for another picture of President Jackson and, at least on this visit, it felt like I was getting short-changed on the time but I think that is the rule rather than the exception. Overall the mileage was decent, but not as good as it seemed to be a few years ago so I don't know if they have been told to tone it down or if the girls just don't want to put forward the same amount of effort anymore. I got charged for 4 dances ($80) and my bad for not tracking the actual amount of time, but I think it was barely 10 minutes, if it was even that long. Angelique did ask me if I wanted to hit the more private VIP section which is upstairs, but I declined because I just had a feeling I was going to leave feeling completely ripped off. I don't know what the costs are of the upstairs area, but I have been led to believe that just about anything goes. However, that could just be a bait-and-switch attempt as I can't speak from experience and I don't really trust that any of these clubs and dancers are going to deliver on their promises since I have read too many other reviews which have basically specified that this is what ultimately went down.
In summary, the club is fairly clean and the men's room is in more than acceptable condition for this type of establishment, the bartenders have usually been friendly and attentive (and often much more attractive than the dancers), and I have never seen it so crowded that you completely get lost in the crowd. However, this place seems to be far more miss than hit and it's really not worth going out of your way to check it out, even on the weekends. This is more or less a microcosm of the rapidly dying NJ go-go scene.
