A return visit, better than the past couple I've had in recent years

OK, first of all I had no interest in returning to PIAS. However, a friend wanted to meet at a place to catch up on things and he picked this place because it was geographically between both of us and it would be quieter than a casino bar. We were supposed to meet at noon, but I got there a half hour early on one of the weekdays leading up to the Super Bowl.

For those not familiar with the joint, when you enter the VIP areas are located off to your right, the fairly long bar is slightly right, then there are several small tables between the bar and the narrow stage, and to the left of the stage are 5-6 "cubicles" for lower level lapdances at $20 each. Don't know the cost of the VIP area. I arrived early primarily because of circumstances, but didn't mind because the bar has video poker, which I thought I'd partake in. Drinks are comped if you're gambling; tipped $2 for each drink. In half hour I lost $100 and had two beers, so I guess one could say that the drinks are actually $52/each rather than comped!

There were two dancers when I arrived and they seemed content to huddle with a couple guys who were apparently regulars, which this place attracts quite a few. I was surprised that there were dancers at all this early in the day, since when I was here about a year ago it was a given that no dancers would show up before 2:00. The bartender said that they were now coming in earlier because it was Super Bowl week. Made no difference to me since I wasn't interested in the two that were there anyway, nor were they interested in me.
