Thursday is a great deal*
This is my impression from a late Thursday visit this week. Synn is at the corner of 2 main boulevards in a relatively safe feeling area. There’s a decent amount of parking in it’s attached mini-mall, but good luck finding a spot at late night.
For years, it seemed like if LA had a strip joint center of the universe- it was the City of Industry, and if the was a home planet- it was the Spearmint Rhino. Since the pandemic- IMO that has switched over to Synn across the street. Is it Synn’s price point value or the large number of dancers? Is it the decline in quality dancers at Rhino or its crappy lighting? Not sure…
Walking up to door there an obligatory patting down before you’re cleared on walkie to enter the lobby and pay your $20 entry fee. The turnstile is then unlocked and you’re told to make a mandatory $8 drink purchase. As you pass through the curtain, you turn left to see the stage ahead and the bar to your further left. Only, on this visit, I could not even see the stage because there were so many guys standing in the way. Fullest I’d ever seen it. I immediately was engaged by a waitress asking for my drink order and asked for a gatorade. Not willing to just stand there waiting for my drink behind a hundred guys and some soliciting girls, I worked my way through to the seats and found an open stool behind 3 rows of cushioned chairs facing the stage. Funny thing is as packed as they place was, nobody wanted to sit at the chairs directly on the stage. They’d walk up, make it rain and walk away. This place is clearly about lap dances and not so much about watching and engaging the dancers while they perform. My waitress never found me so +$8 in my pocket.
