A mellow place with lots of variety

The tight quarters of this place gives it a friendly, dive bar feel. You’re never more than six feet from one of the half-dozen dancers who lounge around, ready to chat. That’s almost better than the stage, which is one of the worst in Portland. It’s beside the aisle from the door to the bar and you set in the aisle or one of the three chairs at the deep end. It’s deep because the aisle slants down.

That set up doesn’t trouble many of the dancers who like to sit in your lap if you tip steadily. They range from thin and goth to thick and proud, with some sexy ones in between. The dancers I spoke to, like the place and how it’s run. In the back are separate lap dance spots and prices are typical, $40 for one, $100 for three, and they sometimes ask for a little extra to cover their payment to the bar. The dances are worth it.

The food isn’t bad if you stop around mealtime, and they advertise breakfasts, though I haven’t had those. It closes early, around 9 on weekends to avoid the expense of security. Drinks are reasonably priced and the bartenders are always nice. The times I’ve been there, it’s always had a very mellow atmosphere.
