Solid Saturday at Divas
Place: To call this place a dive would be an understatement. It's located in an industrial district. The layout is a big room with a stage at the front, cabanas on the far wall (I've NEVER seen anyone use these), regular VIP on the right wall, and "celeb" VIP on the left. The tables are wabbly and the wheels on the chairs get stuck. In addition to the main stage, there are 2 other poles towards the back. There is a bathroom attendant.
People: there were probably ~30 ladies working. It's 90% cubans that do not speak much english, but nothing a little google translate can't solve (plus words like paja and sexo go a long way). The dancers are a mix of builds from petite to heavy, probably skewing a little on the thick side. In terms of guests, I was pretty surprised at how slow it was. We got there around 11:00pm - and stayed until around 2am. there were probably 6 - 7 groups, with maybe 3 - 5 guys at each, there were a few open tables, so no issue finding a spot. Patrons keep to themselves and it's mostly mexican guys.
Price: $50 total for regular VIP + Admission, but I'm not sure the breakout between the 2. Celeb was $100. I ubered, so i did not have to pay for parking, but there were folks outside looking for cash. Dances were $20 in the regular VIP. It's BYOB, so no drink prices. They did make us throw away our water because they offer it for sale.
