Great talent, high prices
In general, South Bay scene right now does not leave a lot of hope for good value and high mileage. But I decided to check out the Poodle anyway.
$25 gets you in. The venue is pretty small but nice, small sized scene at the middle, comfortable seats. Pretty close to the scene, no big barriers, etc. - though I'd appreciate a bit better lighting, I didn't come there to listen to the music, and neither did anybody else, I assume.
The dances work like this: $40 to the club, and then $100 to the dancer if you want to touch, for one song. Since that seems to be the only place around that allows touching, I decided to try it out. I must say the dances I got were very good - enthusiastic, sensual and a lot of contact. The bottom stayed on though and no touching in the covered areas. Otherwise it was a really good dance, and the length of the "song" - which in my experience can vary wildly - was decent. I did not measure it, but it was subjectively pretty good length. The price is still kinda ridiculous I think, so I can't recommend that to anyone as a good value, but no regrets from my side.
